ruby on rails - postgresql headers fail to install -


i've installed postgres when try install it's header files following error:

he following packages have unmet dependencies:   libpq-dev: depends: libpq5 (= 8.4.8-0ubuntu0.10.04) 8.4.12-0ubuntu10.04 installed e: broken packages

thats when run apt-get install libpq-dev. i've done apt-get install postgresql , libpq5 not update. (says it's @ newest edition)
