regional settings - Are there locales for dates? -

not programming question - applies developers...

when saying "do tomorrow"

is tomorrow today's date + 1 , date same throughout world?
talking dates - no times.

leap year? new year?

consider real world example of western-samoa in 2011. switched timezone way crossed international dateline border east west. consequence was: day 2011-12-29 followed 2011-12-31, leaving out date 2011-12-30.

so have example term "tomorrow" in astronomical sense of next solar day not mean next calendar date. , can further see dates timezone-dependent , therefore not same around our globe. instead have 2 lines on globe date changes, namely mignight line , international dateline border. it therefore daily reality have different calendar dates around globe (for example australia in morning 1 day later in calendar europe in evening @ same time).

about remark regarding leap years or new year, subject unrelated question if , when calendar date changes locally or globally.
